Viral Sach: Did Rekha secretly marry Sanjay Dutt?

NEW DELHI: Several reports are doing the rounds on social media claiming that Rekha was secretly married to Sanjay Dutt and that it was the reason the veteran actress always applies vermilion on her forehead. Citing the yesteryear actor's biography, Rekha - The Untold Story, as the source, many websites wrote that she applies vermilion in Dutt's name. However, the writer of Rekha - The Untold Story, Yasser Usman denied the reports. "This is totally wrong. Nothing of this sort has been mentioned in my book. After this news was published by a website, other web portals also reported as if it was a fact, without applying basic journalistic practice," Usman said. "The fact is that people didn't read properly," he added. What's actually written in the book: "...One day in 1984, out of the blue, came the news that Rekha had married Sanjay Dutt; she was, in fact, only earnestly trying to help him ride through a particularly tough patch. Still, the release of the film they were doing together, Zameen Aasmaan, in June 1984 gained a little form of these rumours. Sanjay later issued a formal denial of their alleged marriage.."
