The story revolves around Sultan Ali Khan a wrestler, from a small town in Haryana, who overcomes professional and personal hurdles in his life to achieve global fame by winning at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, the 2011 FILA Wrestling World Championships in Istanbul and the 2012 London Olympics.

Salman Khan plays the role of the title character, Sultan.

The 3 minute trailer showed the leads, Salman Khan, Randeep Hooda, Anushka Sharma and Amit Sadh. The movie releases on Eid 2016, that is, 6th July.
