Women can't wear ‘revealing’ clothes at Facebook office, claims ex-employee

New Delhi: Facebook has reached new heights and the person who has made it an attainable reality, with all his efforts and hard work is, the Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg . But now, an ex-employee of Facebook has claimed that, women staffers are often instructed not to wear ‘revealing’ clothes, which may distract other male employees, said reports. These allegations are made by the ex-employee, Antonio Garcia Martinez, which are mentioned in his book, which is titled, “Chaos Monkeys.” According to reports, Martinez has claimed that, with infrequent support from some of the female employees, the male HR authorities of the company used to give speeches on avoiding of ‘revealing’ clothes which may distract the co-workers. The total number of employees in the company is around 10,082. Last year, reportedly, there was an increase of 40 percent in the staffers. However, the women count increased only by one percent even after the last recruitment. The allegations of chauvinism are not taken seriously by the ex-employees of Facebook. But, none of the Facebook spokesperson have commented on the allegations of Martinez, said reports. Martinez, in his book, has also claimed that Zuckerberg is vulnerable to angry outbursts and cannot see the work suffer because of any reason. Facebook has been trying to improve diversity from a long time, and has also launched many initiatives for the same. But the allegations made by Martinez has surely came as a shock for many.
