No entry for ‘overweight’ customers in Tokyo’s ‘naked restaurant’

New Delhi: Tokyo will have Japan’s first ‘naked restaurant’ next month with swingeing rules for entry. The diners at the restaurant will be weighed before entry and ousted if found to be too fat. If you are more than 15 kilos above the average weight as per your height, the restaurant would ask you refrain from making a reservation. A list of rules posted on the restaurant's website says, ‘a weight check could be done if guests do not appear to be within the correct weight range’. Among the list of other stringent rules set by the restaurant, it is clearly mentioned that there is no entry for tattooed customers. Also, the customers will not be entitled to a refund after making prior reservations. The list of rules also asks visitors not to ‘cause a nuisance to other guests by touching other diners or talking to them’. After meeting the restaurant's entry requirements, the customer will be asked to lock his/her mobile phone and cameras in a box. Guests will have to shed out up to 80,000 yen or $750 for tickets entitling them to eat food served by muscle-bound men wearing g-strings and watch a dance show featuring male models. Meal tickets, minus the show, will cost from 14,000 to 28,000 yen depending on the choice of menu. The restaurant opens on July 29. And if you have plans to visit the ‘naked restaurant’ in Japan, you must make payments in advance on the restaurant’s online booking page
