The batch, which contains canines of breeds such as Labrador Retrievers and German Shepherds, would take the total strength of Delhi police's dog squad to 60. "Of the 30 dogs inducted, 20 are tracker dogs and 10 are explosive experts. We require these dogs in crime scenes.. We purchased them from Army establishment. Since they were trained by the army fully, they cost around Rs. 1.7 lakh per dog," said Taj Hasan, Special Commissioner of Police (crime), Delhi Police.
