New York: About 150 km from New York City, in a store near a petrol station in Staatsburg, a 58-year-old Sikh man showed exemplary courage when he fought off a shotgun-wielding robber in as unusual a manner as possible.
The masked bandit demanded money from Amrik Singh, the owner of the shop. In response, the brave Sikh man threw his slippers at the robber and somehow managed to scare him.
The robber even fired a shot at Amrik Singh's feet, but it missed and hit the ground. Finally, he was forced to drive away from the scene.
On December 15, the incident took place and the CCTV footage that has emerged is pretty motivating.
Thirty-five years ago, Singh immigrated to the US from Doburji in Punjab’s Moga district.
