Will raise GST issue in Winter Session of Parliament: Congress

New Delhi [India] October 15 (ANI): The Congress Party on Sunday said that it will raise the issue of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the upcoming Parliament session, adding the Centre made fake promises to the masses in the name of GST.

"The Bharatiya Janata Party is failing in everything. They have not been able to generate employment opportunities, GST issue, GDP is going down etc. They made fake promises to the masses. The Congress will raise GST issue in the upcoming Winter Session of the Parliament," senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge told ANI.

He added that the GST was all about 'one nation-one tax', but now there are in total six to seven taxes.

"People are getting confused and even facing difficulty in understanding rules and regulations. They are not aware about how much tax is there on which product or prices of which product have been increased," Kharge further said.

He added that some are facing losses in business and said that the GST has not been implemented properly by the government.

"Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has not taken proper steps to make it easy and simple. This government must remove all such loopholes from the GST," Kharge said.

The Winter Session is normally month-long and convenes from mid-November. (ANI)
