Why no ban on Kapil Sharma? Sena MP Adsul defends Gaikwad in Lok Sabha

New Delhi: Shiv Sena MP Anandrao Adsul in Lok Sabha raised the issue of flying ban imposed on its MP Ravindra  Gaikwad by Air India for attacking its staffer.  "All airlines banning him (Ravindra Gaikwad) is not right, will raise it in both houses and in zero hour too," Anandrao Adsul, Shiv Sena said. Defending Gaikwad in Lok Sabha, Adsul questioned why there was no ban on comedian-actor Kapil Sharma for misbehaving on flight after getting drunk. There were reports last week of Kapil resorting to mid-air verbal and physical assault against his colleague Sunil Grover on their return flight to the country from Australia. "We have good safety regulations but never in my dreams expected a Parliament Member to be caught. Rules are the same for everyone. 57-year-old Gaikwad had last Thursday abused and assaulted a 60-year-old duty manager of Air India with slippers for not being able to fly business class despite having boarded an all-economy Pune-New Delhi flight. He was banned by Air India from flying while private airline IndiGo also followed suit as, in an unprecedented show of unity, several air operators imposed a "ban" on him. The non-FIA member airlines --AirAsia India and Vistara -- also came out in support of the ban, which left Gaikwad "grounded" in the national capital. He took a track to return to his hometown Osmanabad where Shiv Sena has called for a bandh to protest his "humiliation" over the incident. An FIR was also registered has been registered against him on the basis of the complaint lodged by Air India for repeatedly hitting its employee with sandals. (With agency inputs)
