Western Digital launches SanDisk Dual Drive for android devices

New Delhi [India], Sept 22 (ANI): Western Digital Corporation, a global data storage technology and solutions leader unveiled its latest mobile memory solution for Android devices, the SanDisk Dual Drive, starting at Rs. 700 onwards.

The new offering adds to the company's portfolio of mobile storage solutions, a pen drive designed for Android smartphone users who want an easy, instant way to free up space on their OTG-enabled android smartphones.

The new SanDisk Dual Drive features a sturdy, yet compact design. The presence of both micro-USB and USB connectors in the SanDisk Dual Drive allows a convenient solution for customers to manage their files between different devices.

According to a study conducted by Western Digital, around 60 percent of smartphone users share more than 10MB of data on a daily basis, and about 50 percent still use data cables or Bluetooth to transfer data from the smartphone to other devices.

The SanDisk Dual Drive, available in storage capacities ranging from 16GB to 128GB, allows Android smartphone users to quickly transfer files between their device and a computer or easily free up space on their phone. This allows users to shoot high-resolution images and videos without being concerned about running out of memory on their device.

With increasing number of OTG-enabled smartphones available in the market today in the sub Rs. 10, 000 price band, the new SanDisk Dual Drive becomes an apt solution that caters to the data transfer needs of consumers in the tier II and III cities, where cloud storage solutions are not as easily available. This 'pen drive for mobiles' will make data transfer and data streaming easier for our value conscious consumers.

"With the increasing smartphone penetration in the rural and urban markets, there is an increased need for easy data transfer solutions. Our endeavor is to deliver the best and the most reliable products to consumers. The new SanDisk Dual Drive is yet another testimony of our commitment to the Indian consumers. Paired with the SanDisk Memory Zone app, we have an excellent solution to help users free up space and manage their photos, videos and files across their favorite devices," said Khalid Wani, Managing Director India at Western Digital.

This pen drive for Android smartphones uses the SanDisk Memory Zone app (available on Google Play) for automatic gallery backup and easy file and media management. The newly-redesigned SanDisk Memory Zone 3.0 app provides new features including an aggregated view of all content, a new timeline based photo browser, an integrated video and music player and built-in file compression and decompression capabilities.

With the app, users can conveniently manage and backup their personal data and experience fast transfer speeds to offload content onto the drive. In addition, the app allows consumers to back up their gallery, contacts, content from social networking sites including tagged photos from Facebook and Instagram.

SanDisk Dual Drive offers five-year warranty, and is available with retailers in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities at an MRP of Rs. 700, Rs. 1,150, Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 3,500 respectively. The product is available in all e-commerce and retail outlets. (ANI)
