Watch: Heavy stone pelting in Noida's Mahagun Society between residents and local villagers

Noida: A major violence broke at Mahagun Moderne Society in Noida’s Sector 78 this morning after a maid was allegedly beaten by a resident. Reports say the maid was assaulted for allegedly stealing cash by residents of the society. This enraged her relatives and angry villagers residing nearby who gathered around the premises at 7 am and entered the society with sticks and bricks. The violence escalated when the security guards in the society tried to stop the villagers from causing ruckus. The angry mob started pelting stones which then ensued from both the sides. 1 2 3 4 5 Superintendent of Police (city) Arun Kumar Singh had to rush to the spot to contain the volatile situation. Police security was beefed up later on. The situation is now under control.
