NEW DELHI: Honeypreet Insan likes to describe herself as "Papa's angel, philanthropist, director, editor and actress" on social media. She is the adopted daughter of Ram Rahim Singh whose conviction in a rape case triggered mob violence that killed 36 people across Haryana. Considered a confidant of the Dera chief, she has also emerged as his likely successor to head the controversial sect. Thereafter Ram Rahim adopted Honeypreet as his daughter and made Vishwas his son-in-law. In May 2011, Vishwas made a stunning claim that Ram Rahim and Honeypreet share "illicit relationship". "In May 2011, when I was living in Babaji's gufa (den) I found its gate was open. When I went inside I saw Honeypreet and Ram Rahim in a compromising position," he said. A few months later, Vishwas approached the Punjab and Haryana High court to 'save' his wife from Dera's grasp. However, in a turn of events, in 2014, Vishwas and his family came to Dera to seek Ram Rahim's forgiveness and said they it had no complaints against the sect head. We contact Honeypreet’s former husband Vishwas to shed light in this matter but he refused to talk about it. Vishwas's lawyer Pankaj Bhardwaj later told ABP News that after Vishwas confronted Dera and Ram Rahim, he received several threats. The lawyer claimed that in the end Vishwash had to buckle under pressure and he was forced to compromise.
