Viral Sach: Chandigarh stalking victim Varnika with accused Vikas Barala in this picture?

NEW DELHI: An old photograph of Chandigarh stalking case victim Varnika Kundu was widely shared on social media along with a false narrative that she knew the accused who had allegedly tried to abduct her. BJP leader from Maharashtra Shaina NC shared the picture of Varnika with two people and claimed that the men in the photograph are Haryana BJP chief's son Vikas Barala and his friend Ashish Kumar, the two accused in the case who were arrested and were later released on bail. Though she deleted the tweet and claimed that her account was "hacked". In order to defame the women who stood up against a BJP leader's son, this false narrative went viral on social media with many started shaming the alleged victim. “So called victim daughter of IAS from Chandigarh with Vikas Barala. This story is as true as like Jasleen Kaur of Delhi & of Rohtak Sisters," one of the tweets read. However, busting all such claims, Varnika said it was an old photograph and the two men in the image are her good friends. "I saw both the accused for the first time when they followed my car. I didn't know their identities or political affiliations until next morning," she said. Viral sach finds that this photograph had nothing to do with the stalking case.
