Viral Sach: Muslim man run over by truck carrying Kanwariyas?

NEW DELHI: Death of a 30-year-old Muslim man under a truck carrying Kanwar Yatris in Uttar Pradesh's Deoband on Tuesday threatened to surge into a communal altercation. Soon after the accident tension gripped the town as the 'news' spread that a high speed vehicle of the Kanwarias had crushed the Muslim youth. However a video of the incident emerged, showing that the young man, Wahid, had deliberately thrown himself under the vehicle. "Minutes before the incident he told us that he's going on road. We tried stopping him saying that there are no buses on the roads for now. We were later told that he met with an accident after coming under a vehicle of Kanwariyas," Nadeem, deceased's brother, said. A police team has been formed to investigate the matter. "The deceased belonged to a poor family. We will try to help his family in whatever way we can," Ram Vilas Yadav, SDM Deoband, said.
