Viral Sach: Did Pakistan Mirage jets fly over Siachen Glacier?

NEW DELHI: Tensions escalated on Wednesday with Pakistan Air Force Chief Suhail Aman flew Pakistani fighter jets near the Siachen Glacier today, but Indian Air Force sources said there was no violation of India's air space. "Air Chief Marshall Suhail Aman flew a Mirage fighter from Skardu to buzz the Siachin sector. Strong symbolism delivered to India," Twitter handle of Pakistan defence said. Mirage jets of PAF are part of exercises since the forward base was made operational. In New Delhi, IAF sources said there was no violation of India's air space. The report came a day after the Indian Army released an authentic video on Tuesday in which at least four Pakistani bunkers were destroyed across LoC in Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Army on Tuesday released a clip that dates back to May 9 showing bunkers on Pakistani being decimated in an assault by Indian army. The 22-second video showed concrete structures being reduced to rubble amid plumes of smoke and balls of fire. Indian Army announced that it has been carrying out punitive fire assaults across the line of control to thwart infiltration bid of terrorists from Pakistan. The strategically important Siachen Glacier and all its major passes are under Indian military control since 1984 when the two armies fought a bitter military conflict in the mountains above the unpopulated territory in the Karakoram range. The inhospitable Siachen is one of the major disputes between the two countries. India has said it was willing to bring its forces down but Pakistan has to authenticate the positions the two militaries currently hold. Pakistan has said it is willing to agree but the Indian condition should not be considered as the final endorsement of India's claim over the glacier - one of the major sources of water for Pakistan's rivers.
