Varanasi: When PM Modi's roadshow witnessed an unexpected guest

New Delhi: The Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi held three mega shows in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, back to back, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, ahead of the last phase of Uttar Pradesh election on Wednesday. He also held roadshows in the city in support of local BJP candidates. His cavalcade passed through narrow streets of the holy city of Varanasi, stuffed with fans of the PM who were eager to witness his one glimpse. They chanted "Modi-Modi", threw flowers towards him. However, the cavalcade of PM Modi also witnessed an expected guest during one of his roadshows. An Ox, by mistake, entered the path of the cavalcade of the PM in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh. However, the security immediately removed the animal from the way. The opposition criticised PM's roadshow and the Congress even lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, alleging that the show of strength was made without the requisite permission. The result of UP election will come on 11th March. Modi's three-day of stay in Varanasi is seen by many as his show of strength. However, many also criticised it and questioned that if BJP is so strong in UP then why PM halted in the religiously important city for three days. The UP state Assembly election seems to be a prestige battle for the BJP in general and PM Modi in particular. Interestingly, ruling Samajwadi Party and Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are also not letting any stone un-turned in order to lure the voters of the politically important state which has the power to shape the politics of the country. Interestingly, after UP, PM is now on mission Gujarat. He is on a two-day visit to Gujarat from Tuesday, during which he will attend a number of events and meetings.
