Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2017: Unemployment, migration, law and order are Jhansi’s problems

Jhansi: Political parties have tightened their belts for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2017. ABP News reached Jhansi to take stock of political situation there and what were the outstanding issues in the city. In Jhansi, there were four assembly constituencies that are Jhansi Sadar, Mauranipur, Babeena and Garotha. The total population of the city is 20 lakh. Jhansi is called the capital of Bundelkhand region. At one time, the city was famous for its greenery. But now it is reeling under population pressure. Traffic jams are one of the biggest problems of the city. Land mafia has destroyed cities hills by mining illegally. Illegal mining is on at river beds. Law and order is in deplorable condition. People have big complaints against the ruling party. The main political issue in Jhansi is regarding separate statehood to Budelkhand and migration. Industries are closed down. Unemployment is rampant. People are migrating to greener pastures. New industries are not being set up. Drought is also a perennial problem in Bundelkhand region. Farmers are committing suicide. Akhilesh government had promised 24 hours electricity but people are not getting electricity for more than 12 hours. Out of 4 assembly seats, Babeena is with BSP, Jhansi Sadar is with BJP and Garotha and Mauranipur is with SP. The big question is, who would the masses vote this time? In Nukkad behes, political leaders and the masses try to find an answer to this question.
