Unhappy over cancellation of ticket, BJP leader Shyamdev Roy Chaudhari asks party what's his fault?

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh BJP leader and a seven-time-MLA from Varanasi (South),  Shyamdev Roy Chaudhari is still not able to digest his ticket cancellation by the party high command. Miffed at denial of the ticket, which also led to resentment among a section of city voters, Chaudhari asked the party why an old hand was sidelined to pave the way for a new comer. While entering the Kashi Vishwanath premises on Saturday, Modi was greeted by Chaudhari but the latter's  disappointment reflected when he chose to remain outside the premises. In a charm offensive, the Prime Minister then held him by the arm and took him inside the temple. The party leadership has worked overtime to placate Chaudhari with BJP president Amit Shah reaching out to him, but according to Chaudhari he has no idea why he was ignored. However, sources said the age factor went against the 77-year-old leader. "In a family differences do crop up. But they also get resolved. The party's reasoning (for denial of ticket) is something I can not disagree with. I will spend all my energies towards achieving a victory for my party in the elections," a beaming Chaudhari later told reporters. About Shyamdev Roy Chaudhari Shyamdev Roy Chaudhari (Dada) is a politician and former cabinet minister in Government of Uttar Pradesh. He was a member of BJP representing Varanasi South assembly for seven times, since 1989 and is also known as Dada in Varanasi.
