Train collides with van in Hathras 15 dead

In a dreadful accident, 15 persons lost their lives after the mini van
collided with the Mathura-Kasganj passenger train in Maidu near Hathras of
Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred at an unmanned railway crossing when the driver of
the TATA Magic van, while attempting to cross the rail tracks, failed to
notice the fast approaching Mathura-Kasganj passenger train.

The van was hit by the speeding train resulting in death of 15 people.
Four people were injured in the incident.‎

The accident took place at the unmanned railway crossing near Maindu
railway station at 7:19 am in the district.

Railway sources in Delhi said the mishap took place when the jeep tried to
cross the track even as the train was approaching.
