Telangana to organise 3rd International Kite Festival

Hyderabad [India], Jan 4 (ANI): The Telangana government announced that the state would be hosting the third edition of International Kite Festival here from January 13-15.

A. Chandu Lal, Minister for Tourism and Culture, told ANI, "We have celebrated the new year grandly and we all looking forward to this kite festival. It will coincide with Sankranti, which will be also celebrated grandly by us every year."

The minister also added that the kite festival got the go-ahead from the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and it would be held in Parade Grounds in Hyderabad.

The kite festival comes with a social message - "Fly for the cause and educate the girl and she will change the world."

At least eleven countries, along with the states, are expected to participate in the forthcoming event. Over a lakh are expected to throng the three-day event.

A special night flying event would also be held in which expert flyers from China, Thailand, Indonesia, Turkey and other countries will display their kite flying skills. (ANI)
