Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 30 (ANI): Nothing could be better than celebrating a festival with a social cause. This 'Raksha Bandhan', the sisters in Telangana will be gifting helmets to their brothers.

The 'Raksha Campaign': 'Gift Helmets, Gift Life' is being held for the safety of brothers across India.

This social cause was started by K Kavitha, Member of Parliament, which kicked-off on her brother KT Rama Rao's birthday in the state.

This has created immense trend on social media and many appreciated this cause and are going to implement the same in their families.

Speaking to ANI, Kavitha said, "The number of youngsters die every year across the country is huge. About 40 thousand people die on roads. I feel this is the time all our sisters come together and make our brothers wear a helmet."

"Many succumb to head injuries in road accidents and this 'raksha bandhan' we are celebrating with a cause after Kavitha tweeted about it. We wish all the brothers and sisters a happy 'raksha bandhan', said Nalini Narayana, a member of Telangana Jagruthi, an NGO run by Kavitha.

This campaign is being welcomed by many celebrities across the country on twitter. (ANI)
