Story of an IIT professor who once taught Raghuram Rajan and is now living a tribal village of MP

New Delhi: An ex-IIT professor, who attained the prestigious degree from IIT -Delhi and a PhD from Houstan is now living in a remote tribal village of Madhya Pradesh from 32 long  years, and serving the people there.    Alok Sagar, as a professor of IIT Delhi polished may students whose popularity have sky rocketed. He is staying in a very remove village of Madhya Pradesh Kochamu, which is inhabited by 750 tribals. The village has only one primary school and has dearth of electricity and doesn’t have proper roads. In all these years, he has planted over 50,000 trees and is very contended with the life he is leading. While speaking to English daily HT Alok said, “In India, people are facing so many problems, but people are busy proving their intelligence by showing their degrees rather than serving people”. This truly inspiring ex-IIT professor spends his day distributing and collecting seeds among tribals. While narrating his story, he tells that he owns only three pairs of Kurta and his main motive is to work for the upliftment of the people of the village.
