RSS trying to change lifestyles, PM Modi should intervene: Kerala CM

Thiruananthapuram (Kerala) [India], July 18 (ANI): Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention against those who take law

into their own hands, and has also called on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to stop trying to change people's lifestyles.

"Every person should decide what to wear and what to eat. That's the fundamental right of the citizen. The attempt to interfere and to change society according to the radical

agenda of the RSS is a violation of serious citizenship," the Chief Minister said in a Facebook post.

He further said that RSS mouthpieces in media calling on women to wear saris, men wear kurta pajamas, telling people to not watch television and that "values" of the Manu Smriti

are being tried to be imposed on families.

"Families are instructed to impose a Hindu lifestyle. And all this is being implemented with the help of the Union administration. India's democracy and secularism are at stake if the

Hindutva project does not resist," he wrote.

Chief Minister Vijayan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be willing to intervene in this issue and asked to take action against those who take the law into their own

hands in the name of cow protection.

This comes after Prime Minister Modi issued a stern warning to cow vigilante groups on the eve of the monsoon session of Parliament, saying no one can take law and order into

their own hands.(ANI)
