RJD's 'anti-BJP' rally merely a `political circus`: BJP

New Delhi [India], Aug 27 (ANI): Criticising Lalu Prasad Yadav for his 'Desh Bachao-Bhajpa Bhagao' rally, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said the rally was a "good opportunity" for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo to come clean on the allegations of corruption and misappropriation of wealth by his son and his daughter.

Speaking to ANI, BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli said this was the perfect opportunity for Lalu Yadav to tell people as to how they have been able to create hundreds of crores of worth of properties with no source of income.

"In any case in this rally it is a good opportunity for him to come clean on the allegations of corruption and misappropriation of wealth and creation of Benami properties by his son the former deputy CM of Bihar Mr. Tejashwi Yadav, his daughter Misa Bharti. How they have been able to create hundreds of crores of worth of properties with no source of income. This is the perfect opportunity to come out and tell people," he added.

Responding to the contradictory images of RJD's anti-BJP rally in Patna, which have been tweeted by Lalu, Kohli said that the trust will soon be exposed by the media.

"This has come in the media that apparently Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav is tweeting some fake photographs to somehow show that there is a crowd there. I am sure that the media will expose this in totality," he said.

Calling the rally a "political circus" for getting the power, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said it is a desperate attempt as they (RJD) is bored of their poor political performances.

Echoing similar sentiments, another party leader Rameshwar Chaurasiya dubbed the rally as a "stunt" primarily done to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Bihar is facing troubles with heavy rains. Instead of helping people they are organizing rallies, if they wanted to work for Bihar, they would have come forward to help. His rally is a stunt," he said.

Further mocking the rally, Chaurasiya said the rally was a "flop" which any party in Bihar can also organize.

"The rally has cleared one thing that the people of Bihar is not with Lalu. The public is also completely satisfied with the works of NDA under Modi and Nitish in Bihar. And in coming times, these people (RJD) will nowhere to be seen as the public will take revenge of the attacks made by them on Prime Minister Modi," he added.

Earlier in the day, taking a dig Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for forming an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Lalu Yadav said that he has never seen two parties which such differing ideologies come together.

Also, addressing the anti-BJP rally, former JD (U) chief Sharad Yadav said, "I am hurt due to the fall of the Grand Alliance government in Bihar, but I promise to build another one at the national level."

Sharad Yadav further described how the Grand Alliance was stitched in Bihar stating that the mandate was given by the people for five years against the BJP leadership.

"Mahagathbandhan (alliance) was given a five-year mandate by the people of Bihar based on its policies, principles and the cumulative leadership that we presented. This was also a mandate against the BJP and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said.

Lalu's mega rally 'BJP bhagao, Desh bachao' in Patna's Gandhi Maidan also saw participation from Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Benerjee.

Meanwhile, a lot of other senior leaders from other parties also shared the dais with the RJD supremo.

Earlier, the RJD chief said that the rally would be an important event ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha polls in which a united opposition would throw the BJP out of power. (ANI)
