Rajasthan minister threatens police superintendent to work for the people of their caste BJP minister threatens police superintendent to work for the people of their caste

The minister said: “You have been posted here because you belong to the same caste, you have to support the caste, if you won’t, we have other alternatives as well.”

New Delhi: A statement by Rajasthan’s tribal affairs minister Nandlal Meena on the lines of caste, has stirred a huge controversy of late. In a gathering Nandlal Meena could be heard threatening superintendent of police Shivraj Meena asking him to work for the people of their caste. The minister said: “You have been posted here because you belong to the same caste, you have to support the caste,  if you won’t, we have other alternatives as well.” The minister also allegedly made an alleged rape victim sit on the stage making her identity known. He has been facing widespread criticism for both the acts . Watch: The entire matter is of Salamgarh district where a woman of the same tribe had alleged 5 upper caste men of raping her. The allegation was found baseless in police investigation as rape was not confirmed in the medical test and the statements of the woman were also not convincing. Under political pressure, the police had to make arrest of two people. The police however applied section 354, instead of 376, which had angered the minister and he threatened the SP, who belonged to the same caste as that of the victim and the minister.
