'Rahul Gandhi's visit to Amethi rescheduled due to security reasons'

Amethi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Oct. 2 (ANI): Amethi's District Magistrate Yogesh Kumar on Monday clarified that he just asked to reschedule Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's visit to the district as the latter's security protocol is very high-level and they don't want to leave any loop holes.

Kumar said the Gandhi's visit is only pushed for 48 hours, rest he is most welcome to visit here.

"Rahul Gandhi's security protocol is high-level and we don't want to leave any loop holes. He is most welcome to visit," Kumar said.

"I only requested Congress District President to push forward Rahul Gandhi's visit by 48 hours only, in view of Muharram and Durga idol immersion," he said.

Earlier, Amethi District Magistrate had requested the Congress district president to reschedule visit of Rahul Gandhi, from October 4 to October 6, in the view of Muharram and Durga idol immersion.

"The majority of the police force will be engaged in maintaining law and order in the district till October 5", said the district magistrate in a letter to the Congress. (ANI)
