Police raids premises of Kripashankar

Mumbai:
The Mumbai Police on Friday morning raided the premises of former Mumbai
Congress chief Kripashankar Singh, facing charges of amassing wealth
disproportionate to known sources of income.




On Friday morning the Mumbai Police Crime Branch raided Kripashankar's
three residences in the city in connection charges of amassing wealth
disproportionate to known sources of income. Kripashankar's residences in
Bandra East, Bandra West and Santacruz are being searched in connection
with the case.




Earlier, a day after the Mumbai Police registered a case against
Kripashankar Singh and his family members, the Enforcement Directorate too
got into the act.




On Wednesday, the ED started an inquiry against the tainted former city
Congress chief and his family members under the Prevention of Money
Laundering Act (PMLA). As a first step, it will write to the Mumbai police
to access a copy of the first information report (FIR) filed against the
Singhs, it is learnt.
