PM Narendra Modi congratulates ABP News for popularising Yoga in India

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated ABP News for organising Yoga sammelan and said the event was an innovative way to popularise Yoga across the nation. "I congratulate @abpnewstv for organising the #योगसम्मेलन, an innovative way to popularise Yoga across the nation," PM Modi tweeted. With International Yoga Day coming up on June 21, ABP News has organised a Yoga event on Thursday to exhort people to make the upcoming occasion as a memorable one. The event was attended by several Yoga teachers including Yoga guru Baba Ramdev. "Yoga makes us strong, flexible, peaceful, healthy and most importantly better human beings," Ramdev said. While encouraging people worldwide to take up Yoga, Ramdev said he will open yoga centres across the world to tech people benefits of meditation. "There are various types of yoga asanas and benefits of yoga are numerous. It provides us all round fitness, improves stamina, helps in weight loss and cure diseases," he said. Earlier this month, PM Modi had called upon people to make the upcoming Yoga day a memorable one. He said yoga should be made a part of daily routine by people to lead tension-free lives. In a message ahead of the Yoga Day, Modi said yoga interconnects the world like various parts of a body. He had said that he will keep sharing different aspects related to yoga over the next three weeks. PM had also asked all yoga practitioners to take a pledge to teach it to the maximum number of people so as to contribute to the world peace.
