PM Modi conveys Diwali greetings to INSV Tarini crew

New Delhi [India], Oct. 19 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday made a video call today to the crew of Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini, who are currently on a mission to circumnavigate the globe.

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Prime Minister Modi extended his greetings on behalf of the nation, and also wished them success in their mission.

Prime Minister Modi had earlier met the crew of INSV Tarini on August 16, 2017, before they embarked on the 22,100 nautical mile circumnavigation journey.

INSV Tarini is currently approaching their first stop in Fremantle, Australia and is expected to reach there on October 22 after covering 4770 nautical miles.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while acknowledging the Prime Minister's gesture also extended her good wishes to the crew.

"Thank you Hon. PM @narendramodi for encouraging the team with your wishes. Good wishes to the #NavikaSagarParikrama crew," she tweeted. (ANI)
