Now, wheelchair-friendly railway stations

Bhubaneswar, (Odisha) [India] Mar 3 (ANI): To help differently-abled passengers board trains easily, the East Coast Railway on Saturday introduced mobile wheelchair foldable ramp at Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur and Visakhapatnam railway stations.

The passengers will have to first inform the wheelchair section near Chief Ticket Inspector's (CTI) office at the respective stations before presenting their identity cards in order to avail this free-of-cost facility.

Earlier, 'divyang' (handicapped) passengers used to face difficulties in boarding the train coach due to the gap between the train and the platform.

The facility, which is currently operational at the 3 stations, has received positive and encouraging reviews. (ANI)
