Not in my culture to stoop so low: Chandrababu Naidu on Reddy's remarks

Nandyal (Andhra Pradesh) [India], August 20 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday lashed out at YSR Congress Party chief Jaganmohan Reddy for his remark against him and said that it is not in his culture to stoop so low.

"It is not my culture to make such remarks on anyone, the way Jaganmohan has been making on me," Reddy said, while campaigning for the Nandyal by-polls.

"The by-polls in the constituency are going to be held after the death of the sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy. I would request you to vote for his kin, who has been fielded by us from here," Naidu said.

Earlier in the day, in a scathing attack, Chandrababu Naidu asserted that Jaganmohan Reddy is associated with corrupt and criminal people.

Talking to the media here, Naidu said, "YSRCP candidate Shilpa Mohan Reddy's close relatives are involved in rape case of three girls. The incident occurred 10 years ago. Though he was MLA in Nandyal, he did not take any action against them. Even a case was not registered. His brother-in-law is the main culprit in the case."

Naidu further alleged that Jagan is involved with various money laundering cases.

On Saturday, the Andhra CM had lashed out at Reddy over his statement - "it won't be wrong if he is gunned down on the streets."

Naidu said that he had been working hard for the state and certainly doesn't deserve to be "shot, hanged or ripped off."

Speaking at a campaign in Kurnool district's Nandyal, Naidu said, "We already know that victory is ours. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) stands for development and welfare of minorities is our agenda. I am working hard for the state and its people. Do you want me to be shot, hanged, to be ripped off? I have been striving hard to develop the state after the bifurcation and will do my best in it."

Naidu further stated that Reddy had been making false allegations against him.

Meanwhile, Reddy is also campaigning in Nandyal for the upcoming by-elections.

Naidu resumed his second-day campaign today in the Kurnool district and visit Gospadu and Nandyal mandal to seek voters' support for the TDP candidate.

The by-elections will take place on Wednesday and the interim period would be utilised by both the parties to pump in maximum amount of money to buy votes. (ANI)
