Nitish Kumar should be ruling Bihar with loyalty, perseverance: BJP

Patna (Bihar) [India], July 14 (ANI): Taking a jibe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday asserted that the former needs to rule the state with loyalty and perseverance, and added that he would not have faced his present political crisis with regard to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) had he done so.

Speaking to ANI, Prasad said, "I don't have anything to say on this issue. But if Nitish Kumar would have ruled the state with loyalty and perseverance then it would have been great. Tejashwi who is involved in a corruption case is the most shameful thing not just for the party, but also the state too. Action should be taken against him".

Amid speculation of split taking place between the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Janata Dal (United), the latter today denied it and asserted that the Gatbandhan alliance is working successfully.

"The alliance is working successfully. No danger to the alliance," JD(U) leader K.C. Tyagi told ANI.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav is embroiled in a corruption case and the demand of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is for his resignation. Pressure has been mounted on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take action in this regard sooner than later.

Last week, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a corruption case against Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, son Tejashwi Yadav; former Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) Managing Director P.K. Goyal; and the wife of Lalu's confidante Prem Chand Gupta, Sujata, on allegations of awarding the tender for development, maintenance and operation of hotels in Ranchi and Puri in 2006.

The CBI later questioned Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav.

The case was registered on the allegations of awarding the tender for development, maintenance and operation of Hotels at Ranchi and Puri to a Private Company dealing with Hotels in the year 2006.

The investigative agency also conducted searches at 12 locations across Patna, Delhi, Gurugram and other places.

The RJD supremo, however, refuted the allegations against him and called it a political conspiracy hatched by the BJP. (ANI)
