Never seen two parties with such differing ideologies come together, Lalu mocks BJP, JDU

Patna (Bihar) [India], Aug 27 (ANI): Taking a dig Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for forming an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday said that he has never seen two parties which such differing ideologies come together.

Addressing 'Desh bachao, Bhajpa bhagao rally here at the Gandhi Maidan, Lalu said that the people of Bihar voted for him and not for Nitish Kumar.

"Have never seen two parties which such differing ideologies come together," he said.

Coming down heavily on the friend-turned foe the Bihar Chief Minister, who left the grand alliance to join the BJP, Lalu accused the latter of using the CBI against him.

"When I was in Ranchi to appear before the court, the CBI team came to my residence and Nitish left for Rajgir. Without state government's knowledge, CBI cannot carry out raids. The CBI raided my house on Nitish Kumar's direction. The people of Bihar know about the property owned by me," he added.

Addressing the tiff between his son Tejashwi and Nitish Kumar, the RJD supremo said that latter is jealous of Tejashwi Yadaw and sees him as a threat.

He also criticized Kumar of having no principles, and stated that all NDA leaders in Bihar are his products.

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also accused the Centre of trying to "scare" Lalu Prasad by using the CBI.

"The Centre is using agencies to terrorise people, who dare to speak against it. But I am not afraid of anyone," she said in the rally.

Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mamata said that three years of his governance have passed, but there is not a trace of "acche din".

The mega rally saw participation from Samajwadi Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mamata, as well as rebel JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav, who is staring at an expulsion from the party for defying orders. (ANI)
