National Green Tribunal site hacked as 'revenge' against surgical strike

New Delhi, Oct 3 (PTI): The National Green Tribunal's website was hacked by an unidentified group that posted an abusive message, claiming that it was to avenge the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian army last week. ”We are Unbeatable. You **** kill innocent people in Kashmir and call your self defenders of your country. You *** violate the ceasefire on border and call it 'Surgical Strikes'. Now kiss the **** of Cyber War,” the hackers said in the post replete with expletives (edited out in this report) The cyber attack was noticed around 7:15 pm on Monday.
When contacted, the office of NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar said that he was not available for comments. Within half an hour or so, the hackers’ message had been removed, and the site greentribunal dot gov dot in showed a “503 service unavailable” error. The Indian army had hit seven terrorist launch pad across the Line of Control in Kashmir last week, after 19 soldiers died in a terrorist attack on an army camp in Uri in Kashmir. Pakistan has so far denied that Indian soldiers crossed the LoC in any surgical strike. This is the second time after 2013 that the NGT website has been hacked. In April 2012, the Delhi High Court Bar Association's website was defaced by Pakistani hackers.
