Narendra Patel alleges of being bribed by BJP, Varun Patel rejects claim

Ahmedabad(Gujarat) Oct.23 (ANI): Patidar leader Narendra Patel a close aide of Hardik Patel on Sunday alleged that he was offered a whooping amount of Rs 1 crore to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) amid inching state polls.

In a midnight press conference, Narendra said that he had already received Rs. 10 lakh as token money.

Showing the received amount to the press Narendra said, "Varun Patel took me to a meeting where it was discussed that I will be given Rs 1 crore. In the meeting, they told me to keep Rs. 10 lakh and the rest money will be given to me later."

He further asserted that he is true 'Patidar' and no one can buy him," I am here for the society and want to do something good for the society. No one can buy me from such money. I am a Patidar. I came here for the welfare of Patidars not to do politics."

Besides Varun Patel, Narendra also mentioned the name of prominent Gujarat BJP leader Jitubhai Vaghani.

Narendra also alleged that Varun Patel arranged a meeting with Jeetu Vaghani in Gandhinagar where he was lured by the BJP to join their bandwagon.

However, Varun Patel has rejected Narendra's allegations and questioned his intentions behind conducting a press conference after receiving Rs 10 lakh.

Varun said," He should have conducted the press conference after taking Rs 1 crore rather than 10 lakh."

Varun also took the occasion to slam Congress and said "Since the patidar community is once again supporting BJP, the Congress is agitated and playing games."

Recently, Patidar leaders Reshma Patel and Varun Patel announced their decision of joining the BJP following their meeting with party Chief Amit Shah. (ANI)
