Delhi ka mood: Modi wave in Lok Sabha; AAP, BJP in neck-to-neck fight in assembly

NEW DELHI: A survey by ABP News-C Voter has predicted a neck and neck fight between the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP in Delhi if the assembly elections were to be held today. The survey said that the AAP will secure 39 per cent vote share and the BJP 38 per cent. According to the survey, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party, which bagged 54.3 per cent vote in 2015 assembly elections, may see its vote share going down by over 15 per cent while the BJP's vote share is likely to go up by 10 per cent. Meanwhile, when Delhiites were asked which party they would vote for in the Lok Sabha, about 40 per cent respondents said they would prefer the BJP over the AAP and the Congress. 25 per cent said they would favour AAP while 24 per cent voiced support for the Congress party. In a good news for the AAP, about 67 per cent of respondents seemed satisfied with the work of the Kejriwal government. When asked to rate AAP's work in Delhi during its three-year tenure, 37 per cent people said it's doing "very good" while 30 per cent rated its performance as "good". 32 per cent of the voters disagreed with the policies of AAP and said the Delhi government is not performing well. Arvind Kejriwal has often accused the Centre of interfering in Delhi government's proceedings and halting its schemes through the Lieutenant Governor. He has also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not letting his government function properly. Well, 50 per cent of the people surveyed were in agreement with Kejriwal that Modi is not allowing the AAP dispensation to work in Delhi. 43 per cent disagreed with the chief minister's claim.

When asked whether Congress should have supported Kejriwal in the AAP-LG tussle, 48 per cent said "no" while 45 per cent said "yes".
