Congress' trash inducted into BJP by Modi: Rahul in Haridwar road show

ROORKEE: Lashing out at Narendra Modi during his road show in Haridwar, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said the Prime Minister has inducted 'corrupt leaders', who were thrown out by the Congress, in his party. "The trash which was thrown out of the Congress party, in the form of corrupt leaders, was inducted into BJP by Modi ji. He welcomed them with open arms," Rahul said during his road show in Roorkee. Urging people to vote for Congress in Uttarakhand, Rahul said the Centre has failed miserably in its promise of providing employment to the youths and if Harish Rawat comes to power again, the Congress will provide jobs in the state. "Modi ji came to power promising jobs to our youngsters and now the rate of unemployment is the highest in seven years. In Uttarakhand, we will provide at least one job per family by 2020," Rahul said. Taking potshots at slogans raised by Modi in the last two-and-a-half years – Swachch Bharat, Make in India, Skill India, – the Congress leader said people have now realised that these are fake promises. Rahul's cavalcade covered a distance of 75 kms touching eleven constituencies. Rahul's cavalcade covered a distance of 75 kms touching eleven constituencies. Rahul also alleged that PM helped industrialists, whom he termed as Modi's friends, but ignored the poor and farmers. "I went to Modi ji's office and said that loans worth crores of industrialists were waived off, but the loans of farmers were not waived off. I have no objection with that, but the loans of the farmers must also be waived off," Rahul told the gathering, adding that there was pin-drop silence when he requested PM to do so. "Modi ji uttered not a word," the Nehru-Gandhi scion said. Rahul show energy booster Terming Rahul's rally as an "energy booster" for the Assembly elections, Pradesh Congress Committe (PCC) Vice President Qazi Nizamuddin said the party is now set to sweep Haridwar district and form government in Uttarakhand. "Today's road show of Rahul ji was an energy booster for the state cadre and workers. People across all sections of society participated in the rally. The dedication level was so high that people gathered here hours before Rahul ji arrived," Nizamuddin, who is contesting from Manglaur Assembly seat in Haridwar, told ABP News. The state will go to polls on February 15.
