MP CM assures help to drought affected farmers

New Delhi [India], Oct 13 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has assured assistance to the drought affected farmers of the state and also announced a compensation for the loss of their crops.

The Chief Minister has already declared 13 districts in Madhya Pradesh as drought-hit. These include Sidhi, Vidisha, Indore, Panna, Sagar, Satna, Shivpuri, Tikamgarh, Bhind, Ashohnagar, Damoh, Chhatarpur and Gwalior.

"13 districts and 12 tehsils of Madhya Pradesh are reeling under drought. We have declared them drought-hit. The Madhya Pradesh Government is with the people of the state. We will provide all possible help to drought affected farmers. I have also apprised Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the situation. We have requested the central government to provide assistance to the farmers in there difficult times," he said.

Chouhan further announced that the farmers will get compensation for the loss of their crops which are being sold at low prices.

"This will start from the October 16 and in this Yojna if the crops are being sold at low price then the compensation of the difference will be given," he added.(ANI)
