Kolkata: West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee government wishes to gift superstar Shah Rukh Khan a luxurious flat in Kolkata for his services as state’s brand ambassador.

According to reports, the government has employed Khan for promotional services for state tourism. The star refused to accept money for his services. The government then decided to gift him a Rs 2.5 crore flat as ‘token of appreciation’.

“It has been found out that the apartment which is likely to be gifted to Shah Rukh measures a little over 4,000 sq ft and is being constructed at Westin, one of the projects of Shristi Group in Rajarhat. Located opposite Gate number 1 of Eco Tourism Park, the project would be a premium mixed-use development, with a 5-star hotel, luxury residencies, commercial office spaces, world class health and wellness centre, with additional features like helipad facilities, and sophisticated security systems imported from Israel and the US such as emergency rescue system and blast mitigation system," the Indian Express reported.

Shah Rukh, however, said he would not accept the gift. He said when he comes to Kolkata, he gets fish from didi (Mamata Banerjee), which is his gift. He further said the love of people of Kolkata is also his gift.
