Mamata Banerjee launches BJP Bharat Chhoro Andolan from Medinipur

She said her anti-BJP movement will continue till the current Union government is unseated in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

New Delhi: On the 75th anniversary of Quit India movement, Mamata Banerjee today raised the slogan "BJP Bharat Chhoro" at a public meeting in Medinipur. She said that in order to garner national support for Trinamool Congress's "BJP Quit India" movement, she will go on a tour of different states. She also informed that she will go to  Delhi tomorrow and will attend an anti-BJP rally at Patna on August 27. Aftermath, she will visit Jharkhand that is witnessing frequent incidences of attacks over Dalits. She said her anti-BJP movement will continue till the current Union government is unseated in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. While referring to the victory of Ahmed Patel in Gujarat's Rajya Sabha election she said that yesterday throughout the night she saw the battle between democracy and autocracy. She is glad that finally, democracy won. Trinamool Congress will organise a block-level programme in support of "BJP Quit India" movement till September 5. She quoted that they will give a break during the festive season and after that again the party will go ahead in full swing with different political programmes that will continue till 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Indirectly, Mamata also quoted BJP general secretary Amit Shah and took a dig at him for having lunch at the residence of a Dalit in North Bengal. She said that on one hand, BJP will encourage atrocities on Dalits and on other their leaders will have lunch at the residence of a Dalit.
