Mahesh Sharma apologises, suspends security officer for thrashing housing society guards

NEW DELHI: Security officers of Union Minister Mahesh Sharma were caught on camera repeatedly slapping the guards of a housing society in Ghaziabad. According to news agency ANI, the incident happened on Thursday. In the video that went viral, Sharma's security officers could be seen repeatedly slapping and yelling at the housing society guards. After the matter came to light, the Minister of State for Culture offered an apology and said that he has suspended that security guard. "When I came to know of the incident,without finding out who is guilty I apologized to society guard. I have also suspended him and have asked the Police to inquire into the incident," Sharma said. "I have also apologised to RWA president, If two security guards are fighting what more can a minister do?" Sharma added. One of the society guards said that "it took hardly two minutes for us to open the gate, still Minister ji's security thrashed and abused us." People of housing society are angry, not the way to behave.We will approach police: Pankaj, Housing society official A housing society official said that they are not happy with the way Sharma's guards behaved and will approach the police in this matter.
