Maharashtra: two die after falling into 2,000 ft deep valley

The incident took place at Kawale Saad Point in Amboli Ghat on 1st August. The police informed that the bodies are yet to be recovered.

New Delhi: A video on social media has gone viral wherein two revelers died after falling into a 2,000 feet deep valley in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. The incident took place at Kawale Saad Point in Amboli Ghat on 1st August. The police informed that the bodies are yet to be recovered. As there are heavy rains it is difficult to operate in the area. Meanwhile, video of the victims falling into the deep valley has gone viral on social media. The viral video shows the two men with bottles in hand. Both of them can be seen standing on the edge and then slipping down in the valley. Imran Garadi, 26-years old, and Pratap Rathod, 21-years-old, worked at a poultry farm in Kolhapur. Both of them along with a group of seven came at the Kawale Saad Point but the others left after spending some time. When they did not join the group, their friends approached Sawantwadi police. It is after that the police found out about the mishap from local people and shopkeepers. The trekkers of Hill Riders Group were called to search for the boys. Sunil Dhanawade, Senior Police Inspector of Sawantwadi Police Station said that both of them were a part of the seven group and after some time Garadi and Rathod fell into the valley. However, their bodies are yet to be recovered. The officer further informed that the bodies were spotted down in the valley but as there was heavy rain, the bodies are yet to be recovered.
