Maharashtra: Man struck 27 times with sword, hacked to death by gang of 11

NEW DELHI: A disturbing video of a man being hacked to death with swords by a group of men in broad daylight went viral on Thursday. In the footage captured in CCTV, assailants can be seen striking the man 27 times with swords. The incident took place in Maharashtra's Dhule district, around 280km from Mumbai. The victim was identified as 33-year-old Rafiquddin Shaikh alias gangster Guddya. Men armed with swords dragged Rafiquddin out from a roadside shop where he was having tea and attacked him with swords and hockey sticks. One of the assailants kept striking the dead with swords until he was pulled by his gang-mate. In the video, Rafiquddin can be seen lying motionless in a pool of blood outside a shop. Police says it appears to be a case of rivalry between two gangs. Rafiquddin, a local, criminal, has multiple cases of extortion, attempt to murder and assault registered against him.
