In a move to provide relaxation to pockets of people, Madhya Pradesh reduces VAT on petrol and diesel prices.
This move is set to reduce the prices of the fuel in the state. The new prices would be effective from midnight.
In a statement issued by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Friday, he said, “Have reduced 5% VAT on diesel & 3% on petrol, new prices will come into effect from midnight”.
Earlier in the week, Maharashtra and Gujarat had reduced the prices of petrol and diesel.
The move comes after order from Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had asked states to try and cut down fuel prices in their respective states. /Narendra Modi (Photo: PTI/File)
