Lucknow: 'Drenched' school children fall ill after performing yoga with PM Modi in rain

New Delhi: Twenty-two school children who performed yoga along with PM Modi at Ramabai Grounds in Lucknow had to be admitted to a hospital as they complained of cough and fever. These students had arrived at 4 am at the venue to be apart of the celebrations of the third edition of the International Yoga Day. Around 70 students fell ill after being rain-drenched and were taken to Lok Bandhuhospital for medical treatment. While around 22 had to be kept under supervision. Rains played a bit of a spoilsport in Lucknow and Delhi,  but people in large numbers still thronged parks and public places. The crowd was estimated to be around 55,000 . In Lucknow, PM Modi was joined by Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the prime minister thanked people for coming out in large numbers despite the rains, saying, "Your presence here will give strength to yoga and deserves salutation."
