New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday issued a statement in Lok Sabha on the allegations of a scam in DDCA while he was the president.

“ We constructed a stadium with capacity 50,000 in Rs 114 crore, whereas Congress government renovated Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium for Rs 600 crore with capacity 14,000. SFIO cleared us. I say the allegations against us are wrong, baseless,” he said.

Before Congress leaders could react, BJP MP Kirti Azad interjected, demanding probe in the matter.

“The stadium was renovated for Rs 600 crore. People who did it are bearing the consequences of that,” he said.

“Modi government is against corruption. That is why CBI is probing DDCA’s activities between 2008 and 2013. Everybody knows who the president was during this time. He should rather demand a speedy probe. Truth will come out in a few months,” he added.
