Kurla-Ambernath local train derails near Kalyan in Mumbai, no injuries reported

Mumbai: Five coaches of the Kurla-Ambernath local train derailed this morning between Kalyan and Vitthalwadi stations in Thane district, officials said. Image Courtesy: ANI Services were disrupted on the Central Line of Mumbai suburban railway, while they were suspended on the Kalyan-Karjat line, they said. Restoration work is underway. The incident comes a day after the Ajmer-Sealdah express derailed while it was crossing a bridge near Rura Railway Station in Kanpur Rural district of Uttar Pradesh, leaving 2 people dead and 62 passengers injured. 2 people were killed and at least 40 people were injured on Wednesday when 15 coaches of Train no 12988 Ajmer-Sealdah express derailed between Rura-Metha, 50 kms from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh ON Wednesday.
