New Delhi: Hailing from Sitapur 45-year-old Kamlesh Tiwari is facing the wrath of Muslims all over India. Tiwari, whose real is Laxmikanth, has been booked under National Security Act for insulting Prophet Mohammed and calling him homosexual”.

Kamlesh’s radicalization began during his school days. He left studying law midway. At the age of 22, he started an outfit called the Hindu Tiger Force in Sitapur and galvanized it by holding protests. In 1994, he affiliated with the Bajrang Dal and became its Sitapur unit chief.

In 1997, he went to jail for leading a Musalmaan Bharat Chodho (Muslims quit India) campaign. After a few years, he got married and then joined Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha and became its general secretary.

Kamlesh has three sons; his wife Kiran work’s for the Mahasabha’s women’s wing and bluntly echoes his opinion. Despite being given police protection, his family living in Lucknow is constantly receiving threats.

The Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) has distanced itself from the self-proclaimed Hindutva activist. It says his comments are not the outfit's views.

“The state government works only for Muslims. We hope the Centre will protect us as the government is pro-Hindus,” Kiran tells ABP News.

In the past two years, Kamlesh has made regular trips to jails for his speeches and activities. The count has gone up to eight. Before this instance, he was behind bars for aggressively demanding a Nathuram Gose temple that he wishes to be built in Sitapur. He also was arrested for leading a Kashi Chalo campaign.

The road ahead looks tougher for Kamlesh as he’s been booked under NSA and wouldn’t see the outside light for at least 11 months now.

The condemnation and protests against Kamlesh have spread throughout the country despite his arrest.
