JNU extends time to apply for its entrance till 11.30 pm

New Delhi:  The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has extended the duration for applying for its entrance exams till 11.30 p.m. after hundreds of students complained of getting errors while submitting application forms and making payments electronically. In a meeting held around 4 p.m. the JNU Vice Chancellor along with other officials, including Director of Communication and Information Services of the varsity, decided to extend the time for application till 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday. Originally, students were required to apply for the entrance exams by 5 p.m. April 5. The admission period started on March 21. One student leader from the university raised the issue of the applicants with the authorities and requested them to extend the time for submission of applications. "I was approached by a number of students who were unable to finish the application process due to technical error in payment and other issues. I then gave a hand-written letter to the administration in a hurry and they were convened a meeting," former Joint Secretary of JNU Students Union Saurabh Sharma told a news agency.
