J-K police organises sports event for youth

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Feb 05 (ANI): In a bid to promote sporting culture among youth, the Jammu and Kashmir Police held a sports event under the Civic Action Program (CAP) in the valley.

The state police organized the program to boost the sports culture and to impart a sense of discipline and sportsmanship among the youth in the valley.

"Duty of police is prevention of crime and to make people stay away from wrong doings like drug addiction, violence. Main purpose of the program is to impart a sense of discipline and sportsmanship among participants. We are getting very good response," East Srinagar Superintendent of Police Dawood Ayub told ANI

A number of youth and students of adjoining area participated enthusiastically in a number of games like carom, volleyball, table tennis, billiards and badminton.

A large number of youths are moving towards illegal activities including drug addiction. And such kind of programs can play a vital role in keeping youths away from all those illegal activities.

Presently, a number of sports events are being organised in Srinagar.(ANI)
