Instead of apology, CM attacking Gaddi community members: Thakur

Dharamshala: BJP MP from Hamirpur Anurag Thakur today attacked Himchal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for his comments on Gaddi community, saying instead of twisting his statement, he should have tendered an unconditional apology. He also lashed out at the CM over the yesterday's lathi- charge on the protesting Gaddi community members at Dal Lake here. "Brutality on innocents, crime against women, mafia raj, all are at its peak under Virbhadra Singh's regime. His remarks on the Gaddi Community had indeed hurt the entire community. However, the brutality shown yesterday by the police by resorting to lathi-charge on the community members is unacceptable," he said. The BJP MP also said that the Chief Minister, in the first place, should not have made such a callous remark about any community. "And after he did, instead of twisting and turning his statement, he should have tendered an unconditional apology. However, nothing can justify the attack by police that left many injured yesterday at Dal Lake," he added. Three persons were injured when police tried to remove them from the road yesterday, when they were agitating against the CM near Dal Lake in upper Dharamshala. Later, police had arrested 20 people. Singh had on Monday allegedly made some remark on Gaddi community.
